Christmas comes alive at Filinvest City
Filinvest City in Alabang has become the ultimate holiday destination in the south with its highly anticipated annual holiday tradition. Now on its sixth year, Filinvest City is kicking it up a notch as it brings Christmas to life in the Metro South.
Dubbed “Christmas Comes Alive,” this year’s celebration has a whole line-up of exciting activities, events and entertainment for everybody’s enjoyment. Starting November 16 until December 31, 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., friends and families can come together at the now completed Spectrum Linear Park and delight in Filinvest City’s Christmas display — made even more lively for a more memorable experience — weekend bazaar with a variety of good eats, and heart-stopping concert performances.
The Filinvest City community will surely be in awe of the bedazzling larger-than-life outdoor installations — absolutely nothing else like it to be witnessed elsewhere this season. This enhanced Christmas wonderland has themed sections such as: the 40-foot “Christmas Tree,” surrounded by vibrant lights; the “Once Upon A Christmas Dream,” evoking sweet holiday wishes with its Christmas displays; the “Aboard the Christmas Train” that will bring you back to your childhood with its sparkling lights and holiday music; and the exhilarating “Up, Up, and Away,” which features a hot air balloon display that elicits a sense of wonder and merriment.
To top it all off, high-powered weekend performances will be open to the public every Saturday at 7 p.m. starting Nov. 17. Performances by DJ Wicked Adobo; independent electronic pop artist BP Valenzuela on Nov. 17; solo folk project I Belong to the Zoo on Nov. 24; indie band December Avenue on Dec. 1; indie alternative rock band Autotelic on Dec.8; singer and rapper Quest on Dec. 15, the influential Rivermaya on Dec. 22; and indie folk band The Ransom Collective on Dec. 29 are sure to lend an even more festive mood to the Filinvest City air.
“Year after year, we aim to bring the Filinvest City community closer together through fun, engaging events. This year is no different as we make our City even more festive and enjoyable with Christmas Comes Alive,” notes Don Ubaldo, head of townships. “Families and friends will surely enjoy the exciting activities that we have slated in the coming weeks as part of our continuing effort to give back to this community.”
