Petron goes for Superliga clincher vs F2 Logistics

-

Games tomorrow (Mall of Asia Arena) 4 p.m. – La Salle Dasmariñas vs CSA (Collegiate Grand Slam) 7 p.m. – Petron vs F2 Logistics (All-Filipino Conference Finals Game Two)

Petron coach Shaq delos Santos cautioned his spotless wards from getting carried away by their straight-set romp of rival F2 Logistics in Game One of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Cup finals, knowing all too well the quality of their long-time opponent.

The Blaze Spikers, who ran away with a 25-23, 25-11, 25-17 verdict in the opener, will try to finish off the embattled Cargo Movers on Tuesday and complete a record 14-game sweep of the tournament.

“For sure, all-out sila pero syempre kami ire-ready din namin ang sarili,” said Delos Santos. “Alam namin ang trabaho ni coach Ramil (De Jesus) especially sa ganyang sitwasyon. Kaya mas magtatrabahao pa kami.”

Delos Santos won’t forget their past showdown in the 2017 Grand Prix, where his wards hammered a convincing victory in Game One then the Cargo Movers fought back hard to force a 1-1 tie and eventually won the deciding game to steal the crown.

“A win in Game One doesn’t mean anything if we fail to clinch the title,” Delos Santos said.

The opening series victory has enabled the Blaze Spikers to match the 13-0 record Petron posted in sweeping the 2015 All Filipino and in good position to surpass it with No. 14 on Tuesday.

“Ang goal talaga namin is pagtrabahuhan every game so yung result naman laging nandyan lang yan. Pero nakaka-proud kasi nagawa namin ito (13-0) and syempre inspired and happy, pero dapat mas pagbutihan pa namin,” said Delos Santos.
