IEEI, IGB Engineering top IEEI-Mitsubishi Electric cage tourney
IEEI bested Century Properties and IGB Engineering topped RMDA Architects to emerge overall champions in the recently concluded annual International Elevator and Equipment, Inc. (IEEI)Mitsubishi Electric Invitational basketball tournament held this year at the Cuneta Astrodome.
IEEI and IGB stood out among 23 teams composed of engineers, contractors, managers, installers and architects and other employees of IEEI and its business partners.
This is the fifth year IEEI, the Philippine affiliate of Mitsubishi, has staged the tournament aimed at “promoting camaraderie in its network and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion” through the annual competition that started in 2013.
Henry Bayonas, assistant vice president for service department at IEEI’s elevator and escalator division and deputy sports director, said the tournament continues to encourage interaction among employees from different departments and organizations, thereby contributing to healthier relationships and work-life balance.
Junrey Jovero, mechanical engineering department head of Century Properties, also said the basketball league has become an event to look forward to as it serves to establish better communications with counterparts from other companies.
The other competing teams come from Robinsons Land Corp., Megaworld Corp., RTM Mechanical Engineering and Services, Supercool Air Conditioning Center, Canriv Corp., Casas and Architects, A.F. Navarrete and Partners, TCGI Engineers, Isagani M. Martinez Consulting Engineer, L.R. Punsalan and Associates, RJ Calpo and Company, Asya Design, ELS Consultancy and Management Inc., WSP Manila, Inc, W.V. Coscolluela and Associates.
