208 ordinance violators nabbed

Around 208 people were apprehende­d for violating ordinances in Manila over the weekend.

Seven of the 11 police stations in the city conducted simultaneo­us anti-crime operations from 5 a.m. on Saturday until yesterday morning.

Most of those arrested were caught drinking in public, roaming half-naked in the streets and violators of the smoking ban.

18 drug suspects fall

Meanwhile, 18 persons were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in the metropolis.

Seven of the drug suspects were nabbed in Malate and Sampaloc in Manila.

They were Aldrin dela Rama, 38; Mc Laurenz de la Cruz, 24; Norma Lagunzad, 37; Jefferson Palermo, 30; Renato Datu, 49; Darwin Urquiola, 44, and Jasen Oquialda, 33.

Police said they recovered eight sachets of shabu from the suspects.

In southern Metro Manila, six persons were nabbed by police for alleged drug possession.

The suspects were collared in separate drug stings in Las Piñas, Taguig and Makati.

Five other drug suspects were apprehende­d in Marikina and Mandaluyon­g.

Police identified the suspects as Rogelio Arcillas, 45; Robert Tee, 42; Julio Isidoro, 43,Aristeo Miranda, 36, and Alejandro Albay, 42.

Authoritie­s said they confiscate­d packs of shabu and P500 in marked money from the suspects.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act.
