President Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo and other government officials have reportedly pledged to join the one-minute synchronized prayer for peace at noon on Thursday, the PasaLord Movement said yesterday.

In a statement, PasaLord founder-convenor Bing Pimentel said officials coming from the three branches of government would join the synchronized nationwide interfaith prayer.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin have also reportedly agreed to participate in the synchronized nationwide interfaith prayer.

“It is the first time in our country’s history that all three branches of government will unite in saying a prayer for peace in our country,” Pimentel said.

“They are not going to meet at one specific venue to pray together because we’ve have asked them to pray where they are. All over the country, we have people who will be praying in solidarity with the entire nation,” she added.

Those joining the nationwide prayer are asked to wear any of the four colors of the Philippine flag. Before praying, participants are encouraged to raise their hands together, fingers interlinked, and bring their hands close to their heart.

The “Prayer for Peace in the Philippines” has English, Filipino, Cebuano and Hiligaynon versions.
