Fallen soldiers’ families receive support

-

Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), together with other sponsors, have rallied to support the Norther Luzon Command Heroes Foundation Inc. (Nolcom HFI).

Nolcom HFI was established on National Heroes Day in August 2018. The main goal of the Foundation is to source financial support for Filipino battle casualties and families of fallen soldiers within Northern Luzon.

The brainchild of Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Salamat of Nolcom, it has a very wide coverage – Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordilleras, the maritime areas in the Western and Eastern side, Bajo de Masinloc, Mabulis Island, and the Philippine Rise.

Salamat shared that the families of Filipino soldiers who died in battle continue to suffer financial difficulties and that Nolcom HFI hopes to secure a viable source of funds for financial assistance to the soldiers and the families they left behind.

“It is very inspiring that civilian support comes to the Foundation the way NAC and the other corporations did. A perfect timing for civilians to share with us the principles of social responsibilities,” Salamat said.

Lawyer Ryan Jornada, assistant VP for NAC, said that it is not often that Filipinos get to thank the soldiers who risk their lives in service of the nation. He emphasized two words – Pasasalamat at Pagasa

– to thank Nolcom HFI for the opportunity to help, and in wishing that the advocacy of the Foundation will live on for a long time for the Filipino soldiers and their families.

“We are thankful to Nol- com HFI for giving NAC this opportunity to express appreciation to our fallen soldiers, the combat casualties, and their families,” Jornada said.

NAC gave P500,000 as initial contribution to Nolcom HFI.
