TINY BAGS, BIG DETAILS AT LONGCHAMP
The reign of the tiny bag continues and, at Longchamp, it is reborn with details that make it at once sophisticated and trendy. Longchamp creative director Sophie Delafontaine describes the spring 2019 collection as a “refined and luxurious journey reflecting the look of modern dandy men.”
She says, “I wanted to inspire myself from the menswear clean lines, bringing together precise cuts and the fluidity of exceptional fabrics as well as giving a twist to the semi plain tie pattern.”
While the clothes appear masculine and minimal, the bags, on the other hand, are elaborately decorated, inspired by ‘70s glamour, Parisian elegance, and the Californian spirit. l The Amazone bag is available in fig or khaki with golden lurex thread dots embroidered jacquard, as well as black patent leather, and python-like leather enhanced by gems. The solid colors are grey or deep red padded leather.
The Hypnotic line, fashioned from black padded lambskin leather, is embroidered with a mandala-like pattern. The clutch comes in khaki, black and rose gold leopard-printed calfskin fur.
The iconic Le Pliage bag is adorned in a semi-plain tie pattern in fig or ecru. The Le Pliage Cuir colorful striped shoulder strap contrasts with the leather.
The star of the collection is the Hypnotic mule, available in black or leopard-print calfskin fur and embroidered with the same mandala design.
