QCPD receives body cameras, handcuffs

- – Emmanuel Tupas

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) yesterday received 300 body cameras and 3,000 handcuffs from the local government.

Mayor Herbert Bautista led the turnover of the equipment at the city hall.

Bautista directed the QCPD to run after motorcycle-riding assassins.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr. thanked Bautista, Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte and members of the city council for their continuous support.

Esquivel said they are

the first police office to receive a big bulk of body cameras.

“Wala pa kasi issued na galing sa PNP (Philippine National Police) so first

ito sa ganyang level na body camera. I think we are the first in the country,” he told reporters.

Esquivel said the body cameras would be distributed to police officers conducting checkpoints, patrol and anti-drug operations as well as traffic management.

Esquivel vowed to intensify the campaign against crimes.
