Sarah sings at Pope’s UAE visit

-

At a papal event in Abu Dhabi last Monday, Sarah Geronimo was a major performer at a show held after Pope Francis said a public Mass before a crowd of more than 130,000 at the capital’s Sheik Zayed Stadium, including several members of the reported 600,000-strong Filipino community in the UAE.

According to STAR sources, Sarah was supposed to sing only one song but ended up singing seven including The Prayer, Heal the World, Forever Is Not Enough, Man in the Mirror, The Climb and the Tagalog song Noypi. Sarah wore two gowns designed by UAE-based Cebuano designer Fernando Barrios (a.k.a. Furne One), one an intricate blue gown symbolizing “peace and unity.” Furne One has designed gowns for such celebrities as Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J and Fil-Am Nicole Scherzinger (member of the Pussycat Dolls). Sarah was contacted by an Abu Dhabibased Filipino last month when she was in Dubai for her Sarah G, This Is Me concert, initially for only one song until a second call informed Sarah that she had to sing seven songs. Sarah came home and attended the concert of her boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli and Carlo Aquino last Saturday at Music Museum and then flew to Abu Dhabi the next day.

Sarah’s trip to Abu Dhabi was kept confidential but reports were leaked on social media on Monday right after the post Papal Mass event.
