Woman nabbed for illegal recruitment at POEA
A woman accused of illegal recruitment was arrested in the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) office in Mandaluyong City yesterday.
Elaine Lantud was apparently following up papers at the fourth floor of the POEA building when she was arrested by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) personnel at around 1:50 p.m. yesterday.
She was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant for illegal recruitment issued in 2015 by Judge Felicitas LaronCacanindin of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 17, who refused bail.
The suspect was spotted in the building by lawyer Geraldine Mendez, chief of the POEA’s prosecution division, who called up CIDG director Chief Superintendent Amador Corpuz.
