Grab users can now ride and shop at SM using the points they’ve earned from every ride by converting it to SMAC and BDO Rewards points. This exciting new tieup between GrabRewards and SM Advantage was recently formalized in a memorandum of agreement signed at Midas Hotel & Casino.

“At SM Advantage, we’re always looking for partnership so that our members can earn reward points beyond the malls or beyond the stores. We’re happy now that through our partnership with Grab our members can now convert their GrabRewards points to SMAC points wherein they can use it as good as cash in 14,000 checkout counters nationwide,” Baldwin Golangco, president and CEO for SM Advantage said.

“We always see partnership as strategic and innovative in creating space, and we recognize SM as the best partner. This GrabRewards and SM Advantage will give us an opportunity not just the leading Riding App but also the leading payment provider platform for both customers and passengers for their shopping convenience,” said Alan Liu, business development and partnerships director for Grab.

Grab users can now convert their 1,700 GrabRewards points to 100 SMAC points through the Grab Mobile App. Converted SM Advantage points will be posted to the corresponding SM Advantage account upon successful validation and process of the request. There is no limit on points’ conversion provided that members have enough points balance. Also, conversion of GrabRewards points to other SMAC member’s account is allowed.
