MESSAGES
My warmest greetings to the organizers, exhibitors and visitors of the 26th Travel Tour Expo.
The country’s travel and tourism industry is flourishing mainly because of the efforts shared by the public and private sectors to improve our infrastructure system, develop our human resources and bolster local tourism. The rehabilitation of Boracay Island affirms the government’s commitment to realign its goals according to the needs of our people and to the expectations of our foreign investors and guests.
I trust that this event will further strengthen partnerships among travel-related agencies and businesses as well as encourage more tourists to experience the fun in traveling in the Philippines.
May the fourth International Travel Trade Expo, which will coincide with this year’s Travel Tour Expo, be a venue to engage stakeholders in our collective agenda of promoting sustainable development and providing all Filipinos with a more comfortable and prosperous future.
I wish you a successful endeavor.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism, I welcome the visitors and exhibitors of the 26th Travel Tour Expo and the members of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA).
Last year, our country was visited by a record number 7.1 million foreign visitors. This number could not be achieved without the help of the PTAA and its members. The PTAA’s tireless promotion of sites and destinations helped bring in travel buyers and organizers to our shores.
I’d like to thank and congratulate the PTAA for continuously holding travel fairs like this. Travel fairs like this encourage the growth of our country’s domestic and international tourism. The PTAA has made traveling to our destinations easier and more affordable by bringing together buyers and sellers under one roof. It is my hope and dream that the PTAA can do these travel fairs on a regional scale and take these outside Metro Manila.
I know that our country has a lot more to offer to tourists, especially destinations that are waiting to be discovered. I also believe that given the necessary marketing efforts, these destinations can become crown jewels of our tourism industry. Ipagpatuloy po ninyo ang inyong nasimulan tungo sa lalong pag-unlad ng industriya ng turismo sa bansa. Mabuhay ang PTAA! Mabuhay po tayong lahat!
The Department of tourism (DOT) sends its warmest welcome to the exhibitors and booth visitors of this year’s Travel Tour Expo (TTE).
On its 26th run now, the TTE remains as a much-awaited travel event that boasts of a wide range of tour packages and services to whet the appetite of almost all types of travel groups and segments.
We laud the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) as it perseveres as a staunch ally in the tourism and travel sector. For four decades since its creation in 1979, the PTAA has moved in sync with the DOT’s efforts in making the country a preferred destination in Asia and in helping grow the industry to its full potential as an economic growth pillar.
Every year, we look at the positive gains from the continued rise of international arrivals and domestic travel, foremost of which is the accrual of benefits to the countryside.
We will bank on PTAA’s initiatives in support of sustainable and responsible tourism through the sale of sustainable tour packages, and partnerships with the local government units to improve destination, tour planning, and management.
Again, our many thanks to all members and officers of the PTAA for the huge support given to strengthen the more fun brand. Mabuhay!
