U-Bix sees higher revenue from printing, office needs

Office systems and printing solutions provider U-Bix Corp. expects to post up to 15 percent growth in revenues this year as it sees sustained demand for printing and other office needs.

In a press briefing, Leah Barcas, executive vice president and chief finance officer at U-Bix Corp., said the group is projecting an 11 to 15 percent increase in revenues this year.

Last year, the group’s revenues reached P2.3 billion, with P1.2 billion generated by U-Bix Corp. alone, and P1.1 billion coming from subsidiary Facilities Managers Inc. (FMI).

Barcas said bulk or 80 percent of the group’s revenues came from the copier business.

U-Bix Corp. director May Ann Bravo - Civil said this year’s revenue outlook is anchored on expectations of favorable economic conditions and continued demand for services from customers.

“To some extent, this is going to be riding on the back of the Philippine economy because our main customers are business customers, as well as government. To recap, Bravo it would be really further growth in terms of production printers, multifunction copiers, furniture facilities management,” she said.

She said the group likewise expects to benefit from electionrelated spending this year as candidates would be needing campaign materials.

FMI managing director Demosthenes Doplayna said revenue growth would also be driven by demand for cleaning services from hospitals and the business process outsourcing sectors.

“We are really aggressive in promoting new technologies in the business,” he said.

While a big chunk of the group’s business comes from Metro Manila, Bravo - Civil said the company intends to expand and deliver its services to more parts of the country.

U-Bix Corp. which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year initially focused on office and printing solutions when it started in 1974.

“Leadership, innovation and diversification have been and will always be the foundation of our company,” U-Bix Corp. founder Edilberto Bravo said.

“For sure, we will continue to anchor our operations on those three pillars for the next 45 years,” he said.
