Man found dead after stabbing partner

A 60-year-old man allegedly killed himself after he stabbed his partner during a fight at their home in Quezon City on Friday.

Tomas Virgo was found dead with a stab wound in the chest. He was in a kneeling position and face down when police officers visited his home on Bayaya street in Barangay Bungad at around 2:24 a.m.

The lawmen sought to arrest him for allegedly stabbing his partner, Myrla Garaygay, 60.

A witness told police she saw Virgo strangling Garaygay and then later stabbing her.

Garaygay was rushed to the Quezon City General Hospital, where she is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Recovered at the scene were an eight-inch kitchen knife, a six-inch kitchen knife and a seven-inch fan knife.

The case is under investigation by the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
