ABS-CBn shows, movies stream via Smart, Globe affordable promos

Media and entertainment company ABS-CBN is teaming up with Smart Communications and Globe Telecom to provide affordable streaming of original shows and movies.

ABS-CBN said the partnership would allow Smart and Globe mobile subscribers to watch their favorite movies and shows on iWant.

iWant, ABS-CBN’s streaming service, one of the network’s digital initiatives as it transitions into an agile digital company with a big online presence and a growing list of digital properties.

“By availing their telco providers’ respective promos, mobile subscribers can stream iWant’s original shows and movies. Users can also look forward to iWant’s new originals this month and its onestop section iWant Sports, which will house various sports content offerings such as livestreaming of games, documentaries, and specials on professional leagues and collegiate leagues, boxing, and national tournaments,” ABSCBN said.

ABS-CBN said Smart, TNT, and Sun subscribers could stream video content on iWant via Smart Gigasurf 99 with Video Every Day for only P99, while Globe mobile customers could enjoy streaming on iWant for as low as P29 with GoWATCH.

Smart and Globe subscribers could also use their postpaid or prepaid accounts as their payment method to stream premium content such as foreign and digitally restored Filipino classic films and access the latest hit local movies via payper-view, it said.

iWant, which kicked off 2019 with 11.3 million registered users, boasts the largest library of video content on any streaming service in the country that can be streamed by users for free.

iWant recorded 60 million video views in December last year and has already gotten over two million app downloads on both iOS and Android since it was launched in November 2018.

This year, ABS-CBN said iWant would also be made available on TV streaming devices such as Roku, Android TV boxes, and SKY set-top boxes.

New features will also be introduced to subscribers such as offline viewing and commenting on and chatting about their favorite content within the streaming service.
