Japan donates P53-M equipment to PNP

Japan on Tuesday turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) P53.3 million worth of equipment for public safety and counterter­rorism.

The equipment, granted through Japan’s Official Developmen­t Assistance, form part of the Japanese government’s continuing efforts to help upgrade the Philippine­s’ law enforcemen­t capabiliti­es.

Japanese Ambassador Koji Haneda led the turnover of six bomb suits, six ballistics shields and 442 helmets to the PNP.

PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde thanked Japan for the assistance.
