Ex-cop, 2 others slain in drug stings

A former police officer and two other drug suspects were killed in stings in Bulacan, Laguna and Batangas yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said former Police Officer 3 Rowel Reynon drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to an anti-narcotics agent who posed as a buyer in Barangay Lumbak, Pulilan.

Bersaluna said Reynon was dismissed from the service in 2010 over his alleged involvement in illegal activities.

Ramil Lagariya, alias Toto, reportedly resisted arrest and engaged police officers in a shootout in Barangay Oples, Nagcarlan, Laguna after midnight yesterday.

Police said Eduardo Mendoza shot it out with law enforcers in Barangay Sta. Elena, Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

Sachets of shabu and the guns used by the fatalities were recovered.
