Disney unveils ‘Frozen 2’ trailer
LOS ANGELES — Disney has released the first trailer for “Frozen 2,” the anticipated sequel to the 2013 animated hit, according to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH).
The trailer begins with Elsa (Idina Menzel) running into the ocean, using her ice powers to run over crashing waves.
“We don’t know why she’s doing it, but it suggests the second film will take the characters beyond the mountains and fjords of their Arendelle home,” SMH added in its report. The newspaper also cited that Disney will be introducing a new female character, possibly Elsa’s girlfriend in the film.
“The push for Disney to introduce a lesbian couple in the film began soon after plans for the sequel were announced, around the viral hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend,”
SMH said.
