AirAsia Philippines has commenced its Cebu to Macau flights as part of the continuing expansion of its international network.

The airline flew its maiden flight from Mactan Cebu International Airport to Macau International Airport last Feb 8.

“We are here to provide connectivity, excellent service, unparalleled low fares, safe, and reliable airline service that every Cebuano, every traveler truly deserves,” AirAsia Philippines chief executive officer Dexter Comendador said.

Macau is a popular tourist destination as it blends Portuguese culture and traditional Chinese traits and offers 25 world historical heritages in a single city.

AirAsia will also commence on March 2 its Kalibo–Macau route with three flights weekly

From Cebu, AirAsia currently operates several international flights to Taipei, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shenzhen and Incheon/Seoul. It also has domestic flights from Cebu to Manila, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Clark, and Puerto Princesa.

The AirAsia Group is the largest low-cost carrier in Asia. In the Philippines, AirAsia operates flights to Macau, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou from hubs in Manila, Cebu, and Kalibo.

It has a current fleet of 21 Airbus A320s, from only two aircraft in 2012 when the airline began its commercial operations in Clark, Pampanga.
