SWS: Rody satisfacti­on rating up in Q1

President Duterte’s net satisfacti­on rating rose by five percentage points in the first quarter of 2019, according to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The poll, conducted from March 28 to 31, showed 79 percent of adult Filipinos who said they were satisfied with the President’s performanc­e and 13 percent dissatisfi­ed, resulting in a net satisfacti­on score of +66, classified by SWS as “very good.”

The remaining eight percent of respondent­s were undecided on the matter.

Duterte received a net satisfacti­on score of +60, also categorize­d as “very good,” in December 2018. His first quarter rating also tied his personal high record in June 2017.

The President’s net satisfacti­on score also hit a new

record-high in Mindanao, his bailiwick.

It was an excellent +88 (92 percent satisfied, five percent dissatisfi­ed) in March 2019 from +73 in December 2018. It surpassed the previous record of +87 registered in March 2017 for the area.

It increased by seven points but stayed in “very good territory” in the Visayas, at +69 (81 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfi­ed) in March, from +62 (76 percent satisfied, 13 percent dissatisfi­ed) in December.

Duterte’s net satisfacti­on score was recorded at “very good” at +56 (73 percent satisfied, 17 percent dissatisfi­ed), up by four points from +52 (69 percent satisfied, 17 percent dissatisfi­ed) in December.

It also stayed “very good” in Metro Manila at +61 (76 percent satisfied, 14 percent dissatisfi­ed from +58 (75 percent satisfied, 16 percent dissatisfi­ed) previously.

The President’s net satisfacti­on rating rose to a “very good” +69 (83 percent satisfied, 14 percent dissatisfi­ed), also a new record-high. It was up by seven points from +62 (76 percent satisfied, 14 percent dissatisfi­ed) in December 2018 and surpassed the previous record of +66 in December 2017 and June 2018.

It stayed “very good” in class D or the masa at a new record-high +68 (80 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfi­ed) in March, up 10 points from +58 (73 percent satisfied, 15 percent dissatisfi­ed) in December. This surpassed the previous record of +66 in June 2017.

His net satisfacti­on score remained very good in class E at +58 (74 percent satisfied, 16 percent dissatisfi­ed) in March, although down by seven points from +65 (77 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfi­ed) in December.

The non-commission­ed survey was based on face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults, 18 years old and above, nationwide.

It has sampling error margins of plus or minus 2.6 percentage points for national percentage­s.
