The Story So Far coming to Manila

-

In recent years, the Philippine community of pop punk fans grew in size, coinciding with the global “resurgence” of the genre. The burgeoning scene, which collectively rallied to “Defend Pop Punk,” stormed fans that had an ear for a newer wave of bands. Among the bands at the forefront of this movement is The Story So Far (photo), who amassed a following not only in North America or Europe, but in Asia as well. Now, the in-demand pop punk act will be coming to Manila for the very first time.

With its first two albums, Under Soil and Dirt (2011) and What You Don’t See (2013), the band got hailed as the torchbearers of the current pop punk scene. But with the latest fulllength album released in 2018, Proper Dose, The Story So Far managed to push the genre to breathe new life into its music.

2018 was a hallmark year for the band as it embarked on a 22-stop headlining tour in the US that ended at the massive Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. It then made its way to Japan and Australia in 2019 to further promote Proper Dose, but not without a stop in the Philippines where its fanbase has grown more solid through the years.

Joining The Story So Far in Manila is Elder Brother, a project of TSSF guitarist Kevin Geyer and Dan Rose (Daybreaker). Also under Pure Noise Records, the duo also released the new album, Stay Inside, this year. Save the date — The Story So Far Live in Manila with special guest Elder Brother is happening just before the Holy Week break on April 15 (Monday) at the Skydome, SM City North EDSA.
