Song for mayoralty bet
There is an easy recall of the candidate when campaign jingles give listeners the LSS (last song syndrome), like the way artists Miko Juarez, Gab Umali and Aiana Juarez perform the jingle for Pasay City mayoralty bet Edward Togonon.
Lyrics by Almed Garcia and music by Anton Juarez, the song speaks of Togonon’s objective for seeking public office.
Just by reading the lyrics, one gets the message of Togonon’s desire to put the city in order. During his stint in the judicial division, he has had many accomplishments. He was responsible in strengthening the National Prosecution Service by rationalizing the ranking, salaries and retirement of the country’s prosecutors through the National Prosecution Service Law or RA 10071. Togonon was a young lawyer when he joined the Pasay City Fiscal’s Office in 1986. In six years, he would be promoted three times, receiving three Outstanding Prosecutor awards in the ‘90s. He became president of the Prosecutors League of the Philippines in 2006 and 2008. He was also elected president of Chief Prosecutors Association, Inc. in 2012.
Togonon is running under the banner of Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN), together with running mate, lawyer Allan Tebelin for the vice mayoralty seat, former Pasay City prosecutor Elmer Mitra for congressman and several candidates for councilors.
