True to its concert title, the Good Vibes 2019 tour of American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz filled the jam-packed SM Mall of Asia Arena with a chill, positive atmosphere on Wednesday night.

Joined by his talented band Raining Jane, the Grammy award-winning music artist inspired the audience with his optimistic outlook in life and love as expressed through his music. The first act of the night was Let’s See What

The Night Can Do with Jason greeting the Filipino fans, “Mabuhay!”

The whole arena was transformed into a giant karaoke joint when the audience sang to Jason’s greatest hits, such as Curbside Prophet/The Remedy, Butterfly, I’m Yours, You and I Both, A Beautiful Mess, Love Is Still The Answer and I Won’t Give Up. Jason made sure to thank supporters in Tagalog, “Salamat po!”

The 41-year-old singer also cracked jokes in between performances, boasting about his elephant memory and saying he still doesn’t need a teleprompter because he knows the lyrics to his songs by heart.

“I might need a teleprompter to read the words, but I have a singing audience with me which I will never forget the words,” he quipped, eliciting an applause from the amused fans.

Jason also shared his passion for music and how it lifts his spirits every time.

“I turn to music because it makes me feel better, life is weird. Music heals me…,” he said before singing Details In The Fabric.

“Take a moment and send gratitude to someone in your life, who really makes your life better, somebody who helps you become who you are…take this opportunity to thank them. Put your thought, vibration on their soul, on their heart. Send them to healing. Send them some gratitude and love,” he continued.

One of the memorable moments in the show was the live debut of the much-anticipated collaboration, Could I Love You Anymore, of Jason with Filipina artist and YouTube sensation Reneé Dominique. Reneé and Jason met through the Internet.

Before the duet, Reneé spoke about how her dream of performing with her musical idol Jason came true. (See related story.)

They also did a sweet duet of the song Lucky to the delight of the fans. Jason did the original duet with Colby Caillat.

Jason capped the two-hour concert with hit tracks Have It All and Love Someone.

Have It All is the lead single of his sixth album, Know, which is part of the Good Vibes 2019 tour.

Jason rose to fame with the release of his second album Mr. A-Z in 2005, when the album peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 100,000 copies. In 2008, his third studio album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things debuted on No. 3 on the Billboard 20 and was an international commercial success due to his hit song I’m Yours. Jason won two Grammy Awards, two Teen Choice Awards, A People’s Choice Award and Hal Dal songwriters Hall of Fame Award.

The night was filled with love and hopes. Simply put, Jason’s show was a feel-good concert that made all your worries go away.
