Go thanks Pinoy community in Japan

-

Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go expressed his gratitude to the Filipino community during an event held in Tokyo, Japan as part of the visit of President Duterte.

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you. Not all Filipinos are given the privilege to help improve the lives of their countrymen. I will not waste this trust that you have given me,” Go said in his speech.

He also offered his victory to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). “This feat would not have been possible if not for the love and support of every Filipino, including our beloved overseas Filipino workers whose steadfast support gave me a big boost to achieve one of the sweetest victories in my life.”

He assured the Filipino community that he will not only continue to become their bridge to the President, but also become their voice in the Senate.

Go also vowed to support the Filipino oversees community by assuring them that their grievances will be addressed as part of his work as a senator.

“You may rest assured my office will always be open to hear your complaints, grievances and suggestions on how to improve government service,” Go said.

The establishment of the Department for OFW concerns will be a top priority of Go in the Senate. The proposed department will serve as a one-stop-shop in providing legal assistance for OFWs in distress; to arrange a full migration cycle approach in promoting migrant’s rights from pre-employment as well as on-site and reintegration services; and to launch a shared database system that contains important information of all OFWs to aid in tracking their status and fast track delivery of assistance, especially to distressed workers.
