DIVE INTO FLIP-FLOP HEAVEN

Summer is all year round with this beloved rubber slipper brand, and with a new flagship store — even better things are on the way.

Flip-flops have taken a permanent place among the footwear club of chunky dad sneakers and Birkenstocks that say “utilitarian, but make it chic.”

Last August, Elle wrote about the sandal’s popularity among influencers at Copenhagen Fashion Week, saying that they were a “thing.” Over time, the trend has shown no signs of dying down, and just recently, Vogue published a story heralding the return of “the non-fashion flip-flop.”

In a tropical country like ours, the flip-flop has never left, making it easier than ever to get in on the trend. Havaianas is the brand that comes to mind when you think of this footwear staple. The iconic Brazilian flip-flops have been a household name ever since they arrived on Philippine shores in 2003, and are now enjoying more than a decade here in the business of comfortably strapping our feet. These days, the brand is still going strong, thanks to their comfy offerings, beachy appeal and promise of a forever summer.

Today, Havaianas opens its new flagship store at Bonifacio High Street. The store’s set to be their biggest and most complete, with all their classic and limited-edition designs (including the new Game of Thrones and Stranger

Things collections that fashion geeks will love) all available under one roof.

Every corner is a photo op waiting to happen, thanks to all the bright and sunny installations set up all around the store. We personally can’t wait to see the Rainbow Color Wall and coconut tree (made with Havaianas). Apart from that, they’ll also be customizing pins and straps in the Havaianas Beach Hut inside the store, making every moment an opportunity

to #MakeYourOwnHavaianas. From the runway, to the street, to the beach, Havaianas is proof that the flip-flop is here to stay, and we’re definitely here for it. * * *

The Havaianas flagship store is located at B6 Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig. For more information, check out Facebook.com/HavaianasPhilippines, follow @havaianasphilippines on Instagram, or visit havaianas.ph.
