- By IRIS GONZALES

Gokongwei-owned property developer Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) has expanded its presence in the South Luzon area with the opening of its 52nd mall in the country.

Robinsons Galleria South, located along the Old National Highway in San Pedro, Laguna, will be the third Galleria-branded mall in the country following the flagship Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas and Robinsons Galleria Cebu, RLC president Frederick Go said.

“We are excited to open Robinsons Galleria South, which will be of great service and convenience to the residents of Laguna and Southern Metro Manila,” he said.

The mall, which is also RLC’s 10th lifestyle center in the CALABARZON region, is targeting to serve an estimated community of 300,000 residents, mostly highly mobile professionals working in Metro Manila.

Robinsons Galleria South is a four-level lifestyle center developed on a 3.8 hectare lot which used to be a soda bottling plant. It has a gross leasable area of 48,000 square meters.

Included in the mall’s tenant mix are local businesses such as Ta Ke Ho Me Sushi, Shou Noodles, Seafoods and Steak, Hot Chicks Fried chicken, Fire Pit, Slice N Dice, Potato Corner, G-Spot Burger Bar, Super Bagnet, Una Gansig, Ilocos Empanada and Zawrap Shawarma.

Robinsons Galleria South will also feature JK Town, a zone in the mall which is lined by popular Japanese and Korean stores and dining restaurants.

It will also feature digital playground PlayLab, the third branch following successful operations in Galleria Cebu and Galleria Ortigas.

Playlab, the only “phygital” playground in the Philippines, is an RLC brand.

The mall will also house six cinemas including the first VIP Robinsons Movieworld cinema, a contemporary food court and a 250-seater chapel.

Apart from the various global brands and dining options, the mall also features the go-to retail stores such as Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, South Star Drug, Robinsons Bank, Daiso Japan and Arcova.

Robinsons Malls’ Public Service Program is also present as SSS branch office, located on the second floor, and Philhealth and OWWA on the third level, will soon be open for its members’ convenience.

Other Robinsons Malls branches in the region include Robinsons Sta. Rosa, Robinsons Place Dasma, Robinsons Place Imus, Robinsons Place Lipa, Robinsons Town Mall Los Baños, Robinsons Gen. Trias, Robinsons Tagaytay, Robinsons Place Antipolo and Robinsons Cainta.
