Raffles Makati’s themed afternoon tea series returns for its four edition in Writers Bar, this time with Provencal beauty and wellness brand L’Occitane. L’Occitane is the first beauty brand in the series, preceded by French champagne house Veuve Cliquot and American brands, jeweler Tiffany & Co. and fashion brand Kate Spade.

Just like Raffles, L’Occitane values Old World charm and modern sophistication. Since the 1970s, its hometown of Provence has been the source of the brand’s approach to authentic beauty, harnessing body care ingredients like Provence’s very own almonds for beautiful skin. L’Occitane puts almond in its skincare, but of highest quality: harvested from the high areas and cold-pressed right away to maintain its antioxidant benefits.

The Afternoon Tea with L’Occitane menu is inspired by Provence, too, paired with select fine teas, featuring savory delights such as pissaladiere with lalamata olives; fresh anchovies on focaccia bread; mini brioche sandwich with chicken, pine nuts, roasted tomato, basil, goat

cheese with honey, lavender, and grapes on country bread; and nicoise salad in a crunchy cup.

Sweet divine pasties are also included: peach mirliton; calisson of orange lemon confit; pistachio religieuse; lavender macaron, white chocolate mousse tartlet with black currant cremeux; and honey, lemon, and almond Madeleines.

Baked scones with dried apricots and almonds are accompanied by traditional clotted cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd.

Tea and confectionary connoisseurs can enjoy this designed afternoon tea with complementary and complimentary L’Occitane products from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. until Sept. 30 at P1,500 for two.
