Lalamove partners with Chubb, James Deakin to ensure drivers’ safety

-

Motorists in Metro Manila are used to experiencing the worst traffic, sharing the road with undisciplined drivers, and overwhelmed with so many regulations. Drivers often find themselves in a difficult situation and sometimes, get caught up in an accident. As an on-demand courier, Lalamove partner drivers experience all of this daily. Thinking ahead, Lalamove teamed up with Chubb Insurance and James Deakin to promote safety and ease of mind for their driver community.

Chubb Insurance will provide 24/7 personal accident insurance for all active Lalamove partner drivers. Whether they are fulltime or part-time drivers, they will be covered while they are on the job.

“Ngayong may insurance na para sa aming mga partner

drivers, kampante na ang kalooban kong bumyahe. ‘Di na rin masyadong nababahala ang misis ko dahil alam niyang kasama niya ang Lalamove na nag-aalala para sa aming

mga partners.” (Now that there’s insurance for us partner drivers, I’m more confident to ride. My wife isn’t as worried because she knows that Lalamove is with her in taking care of us partner drivers),” said Romar Ranile, father of two and Lalamove Partner Driver.

Lalamove Philippines managing director Dannah Majarocon shares “We are glad that finally, we can provide insurance for all our hardworking partner drivers. With this partnership in place, they can now focus on earning more while having peace of mind on the road.”

Chubb Philippines country president Peter van Ratingen added, ”We are delighted to collaborate with Lalamove Philippines to protect their partner drivers. According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, there were 101,428 road crashes in the National Capital Region last year, of which 336 lives were lost . Our personal accident insurance has tailored features and benefits to meet the drivers’ needs so that they are well taken care of if the unfortunate happens.”

Following the great news about insurance, another partnership was made to benefit Lalamove partner drivers. James Deakin, a motoring advocate who champions road safety, joined the Lalamove team to lessen the accidents these drivers face. “Our goal is for Lalamove partner drivers to never have a need for insurance. That’s why we’re geared up to do road safety seminars, constant social media reminders to continuously educate them.” James Deakin said.

Lalamove is poised to reach 40,000 partner drivers in Metro Manila by the end of 2019. This makes ensuring each partner’s safety a challenge. With Chubb to provide coverage and James Deakin to initiate road safety educational programs, Lalamove promises that every partner driver’s safety is their number one priority.
