MAKATI SHANGRI-LA, MANILA WINS PMAP EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Makati Shangri-La is the first hotel to have been nominated and to have received this recognition award by the PMAP as the country’s premier HR professional association that helps institutions mold an enlightened, competent, socially responsible and influential sector of people managers who can effectively participate in nation-building.
The PMAP Awards Program is an annual tradition established in 1977 with a vision to recognize outstanding organizations and individuals to help advance the people management profession in the country. The Employer of the Year (EOY) Award gives recognition to a company that satisfactorily fulfills its people management responsibilities, as demonstrated by its leadership, dynamism, professionalism, strategic thinking and implementation, continuous improvement in HR processes and programs, linkage of HR to business objectives, and employee focus. Now in its 43rd year, PMAP continues to give public honor to the most outstanding company for others to emulate its example.
This year, from among 67 companies that took part in the EOY competition, Makati Shangri-La, Manila stood out from a series of qualifying panel interviews by the board of judges and numerous focused group discussions with the hotel’s colleagues sharing workplace experience.
Sheila Marie Sepulveda, assistant vice president, Human Resources (Southeast Asia and Australasia) of Shangri-La Group, warmly expressed, “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from the PMAP. This is a testament of our passion in creating engaging, meaningful and purposeful experience for our colleagues.”
On Wednesday, July 17 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City, Makati Shangri-La was awarded by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) as the 2019 Employer of the Year in the Philippines.
