Petron, F2 Logistics in explosive matchup

- By JOHN BRYAN ULANDAY

The Cargo Movers swept their first 11 games, including one over the team that has lorded it over in this conference the past two years with the Blaze Spikers going flat out not only to even things up but also to wrest the solo lead over their arch rivals. Gametime is at 4:15 p.m. Meanwhile, Generika-Ayala (8-5) clashes with PLDT Home Fibr (4-8) at 7 p.m.

Despite their impressive run, F2 coach Ramil de Jesus said they aren’t letting up, hinting at another explosive performance by the Cargo Movers against the equally-talented Petron side as they try to move within two wins from sweeping the prelims.

“If they will come at the game prepared, so are we,” said De Jesus. “But it won’t end after Thursday’s game. We still have a long way to go. The result of our game against Petron won’t determine the champion of this conference.”

Still, it will surely be worth watching with the

Blaze Spikers confident of getting back at their tormentors and improving their card to 12-1.

“We’re excited to play against them and it’s going to be an exciting match for sure,” said Petron coach Shaq delos Santos, whose wards dethroned the Cargo Movers in 2017.

“But like any other game, everything starts in practice. We need to have good preparation to have a better performance,” added Delos Santos, who will again pin his hopes on the likes of Mika Reyes, Frances Molina, Denden Lazaro, Sisi Rondina and Rhea Dimaculangan.

On the other hand, power-hitting Fil-Am Kalei Mau and Ara Galang will again spearhead F2’s bid along with old reliables Majoy Baron, Aby Maraño and Dawn Macandili.
