Winford Manila wedding venue gets feng shui nod

-

The Winford Manila Resort & Casino boasts a luxurious 700-seater ballroom on the hotel’s fourth floor to comfortably accommodate big weddings, parties, and MICE events.

With a heritage dating as far back as 1912, the San Lazaro Hippodrome in the heart of Manila was where the country’s premier horseracing events were held until 16 years ago. Today, a new kind of excitement stands at the exact same spot in the form of Winford Manila Resort and Casino (WMRC).

Operated by the Manila Jockey Club (MJC) Investment Corporation, WMRC is a 22-story casino hotel that offers luxurious accommodations and world-class entertainment with 128 well-appointed rooms, a threelevel gaming area, outdoor heated swimming pool, gym and spa, fine dining, and retail outlets.

A lifestyle destination for tourists and high rollers aside, WMRC has also gained popularity for its MICE-ready capabilities, mainly in the form of a 700-seater pillar-less ballroom ideal for seminars, exhibitions, and formal banquets with an emphasis on weddings. Winford Manila has also proven to be an auspicious venue for starry-eyed couples to tie the knot.

Expert celebrity feng shui master Hanz Cua recently performed a ritual at WMRC, particularly in the ballroom, appealing to the benevolent entities to give their approval of future activities conducted within Winford Manila.

“The floral chandelier in the ballroom is the ‘flower of romance’ and signifies love throughout a blissful relationship and marriage,” explained Master Hanz. “The same goes for the ballroom’s gold carpet, which symbolizes wealth, and also the ‘Fú’ character beside the Winford Manila logo, which is a symbol of good luck in Chinese.”

With the ballroom’s energy found to be positive by Master Hanz, WMRC has developed wedding packages and will be hosting the firstever “Winford Weddings” in September — a showcase of not only bridal fashion but also what is in vogue for grooms as well — all within the confines of its grand ballroom.

WMRC offers comprehensive food and beverage options courtesy of its in-house banquet services team or tenants Copa de Manila and Choi Garden, with the icing on the cake — its own private helipad — at the newlyweds’ disposal should they make other arrangements to be whisked away to their honeymoon by chopper at the end of the night.
