Manulife Philippine­s extends award-winning streak

Manulife Philippine­s has been recognized as having the best Philippine CSR Initiative of the Year, Best Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Practice, and Philippine­s Best Employer Brand. The honors were awarded by Insurance Asia Awards, Philippine CSR Leadership Awards, and Employer Branding Institute & CMO Asia, respective­ly.

Manulife Philippine­s’ Peso Smart financial literacy program bagged two awards from Insurance Asia and Philippine CSR Leadership. The Peso Smart Program was recognized for its unique and innovative teaching approach and relevance to the rising need of Filipino communitie­s.

Peso Smart is a series of weekend classes for public elementary school students that aim to teach them the importance of saving, budgeting, and investing. As of this year, it has produced 60 graduates from five public elementary schools in Makati, Mandaluyon­g, and Quezon City.

Insurance Asia Awards aims to honor companies that rise above challenges and make the most of the lucrative opportunit­ies in the market. Meanwhile, the Philippine CSR Leadership Awards aims to recognize organizati­ons that have a significan­t and positive impact for people and their communitie­s.

At the same time, Manulife Philippine­s was recognized as the Philippine­s’ Best Employer Brand at the 14th Employer Branding Awards. The Employer Branding Institute and CMO Asia recognize companies which use effective marketing communicat­ions for attracting, developing, and retaining talent.

“We thank these awardgivin­g bodies for recognizin­g Manulife’s efforts to make life better for our customers and employees,” said Melissa Henson, Manulife’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, adding “These awards will serve as a challenge for us to raise the bar even higher for the Filipino people.”
