Who will be the next SM Little Star?
Today, 30 cute, talented and adorable kids will compete in the grand finals of the SM Little Stars pageant at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The grand finals is the culmination of a month-long search wherein more than 5,000 kids aged four to seven all over the country registered to join the contest.
In its 12th year of celebrating talented Filipino kids, SM Little Stars shines brighter with over P9.5M worth of prizes, plus a chance to bring their star quality to the next level.
The grand prize winner will receive a brand-new Chevrolet Sail MT, exclusive artist management contract with Regal Entertainment, Inc., P100,000 worth of cash and SM gift certificates (P50,000 cash and P50,000 worth of gift certificates), a five-day and four-night trip to China for two (inclusive of airfare, hotel accommodations and tours), a fouryear college scholarship grant from National University and P30,000 worth of Toy Kingdom gift cards.
Moreover, the search for talented, lovable and adorable kids has been a stepping stone for many of its winners to advance to bigger things. SM Little Stars 2016 winners Marcus Cabais and Sheena Kirtsten Bentoy played key roles in The Lion King the Musical — Marcus as the young Simba and Sheena as the Young Nala.
Nhikzy Calma, one of the 2013 winners, was awarded as WCOPA junior grand champion performer of the world in 2017 and has become part of variety TV shows; while 2014 winner Chun Sa Jung has won fans as a mainstay on a kiddie comedy show.
This year’s winners will be chosen by a celebrity judging panel — Karylle, direk Joey Reyes, Tuesday Vargas and SM Little Stars 2013 third prize winner Esang de Torres — on the following criteria: star quality, 40 percent; personality, 20 percent; and talent, 40 percent.
