“Life’s persistent and most urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others’?”
-
JOHNNY LITTON — Martin Luther King Jr.
Another year of fighting the Big “C” has begun with the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) and Best Dressed Women of the Philippines’ (BDWP’s) recently concluded annual tea held at Chef Jessie in Rockwell, Makati City. Leading this momentous event were PCS chairman Dr. Antonio Ma. J. Guerrero, trustee Dr. Kelly Salvador and executive director Dr. Rachael Rosario alongside BDWP event chairperson and Angola Consul Helen Ong with the selection and organizing committee composed of your columnist as adviser, project head Roselle Rebano, and members Uruguay Consul Marian Ong, Flora Chua, Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and Tanzania Consul Betty Chua. Headlining the 2019 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines are awardees Caroline Lee Andrade, Ang Yong Tan Yu, Hoseki CEO Janet Grace Emnace Co, Ruby Canteras Pacis, Irene Bigornia Montemayor, St. Peter Life Plan Inc. chairman Dr. Mildred Vitangcol, Crystal Jacinto, Sunny Wang, Antoniette Fu, Jennifer Ty and Jessica Nieva with 2019 Woman of Style and Influence Alice Eduardo.
Since its founding in 2004, the country’s longest-running charity fashion show has continued its advocacy of raising funds to assist PCS with its programs that help underprivileged Filipinos battling cancer. The Best Dressed Women of the Philippines — the biggest fundraising resource of the Philippine Cancer Society — counts among its numerous sponsors and donors Okada Manila, Moments in Heels and Salcedo Auctions. Its 16th Annual Awards Ball will be held on Sept. 25 at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City.
Congratulations to the Philippine Cancer Society and the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines for a successful introduction of this year’s awardees! *
