350 new cops take oath

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Three hundred and fifty new police recruits took their oath as patrolmen and patrolwome­n at the Police Regional Office here yesterday.

Cagayan Valley Police spokesman Lt. Col. Chevalier Iringan said the 350 new police officers have hurdled the rigorous selection and screening process conducted by the Recruitmen­t and Selection Board from 1,966 applicants. Sixty-eight are women and 282 are men, Iringan added.

Out of the 350 successful applicants, 175 are from Cagayan, 121 from Isabela, 23 from Nueva Vizcaya, three from Batanes, 12 from Quirino, 11 from Santiago City and five from other provinces.

The new recruits will undergo Public Safety Basic Recruit Course and Field Training Program for a year at the Regional Training Center in Cauayan City, Isabela.
