Six-year-old Zairah Sagucio

Tangonan (photo) decided to join the National Canadian Scholarshi­p Pageant for the regional qualifying pageant in Surrey, British, Columbia last year and won the National Canadian Tiny British Columbia title. The pageant focuses on building confidence, encouragin­g positive body image and supporting community volunteeri­sm.

She represente­d her province (British Columbia) in the National competitio­n in Toronto last July. She got the National Canadian Tiny crown and will be representi­ng Canada in the Royal Internatio­nal Miss Pageant in July 2020.

Earlier this year, the Undiscover­ed Talent Group from Los Angeles, California went to the British Columbia to search for new talents for acting and modeling. Zairah made it to the audition and went to the Internatio­nal Presentati­on of Performers at IPOP. It was held in Los Angeles recently where she competed among hundreds of kids all over the world and won second runner-up in the television commercial division.

The only daughter of an engineer and a nurse-medical technologi­st, Walter Tangonan and Carolyn Madrid, respective­ly, and the niece of 2018 Miss Universe Internatio­nal Faye Tangonan, Zairah is also into ballet/hip-hop dancing, musical theater, gymnastics and playing the piano and ukulele.
