Malayan Insurance joins fight vs poverty
Malayan Insurance Co. (MICO), a member of the Yuchengo Group of Companies, continues to join the fight to eradicate poverty in the Philippines by 2030.
MICO vice chairperson Yvonne Yuchengco said the insurance provider would offer microinsurance to member organizations of the Zero Extreme Poverty 2030 Goal or ZEP 2030.
“That is in consonance with the mission of inclusivity and thus providing non-life insurance protection, just one of the means to achieve this mission of inclusivity,” Yuchengco said.
The program aims to uplift at least one million Filipino families from extreme poverty by the year 2030.
At the signing ceremony held at De La Salle University, Yuchengco said the memorandum of understanding allows MICO to offer microinsurance cover to member organizations and anti-poverty cluster programs of the ZEP 2030.
She added MICO would aid in sustaining the ZEP 2030 by administering microinsurance coverage for indigent recipients from marginalized sectors as well as qualified individuals and organizations.
MICO shares the Yuchengco Group’s passion for serving the marginalized through their contributions to the industry and the local economy.
