-

Games today 2 p.m. – Choco Mucho vs Motolite/ 4 p.m. – PacificTown Army vs Air Force 6 p.m. – BanKo-Perlas vs PetroGazz

BanKo-Perlas seeks a repeat but PetroGazz goes all-out for a payback, guaranteeing a fierce duel as two of the league’s top teams begin their second round campaign in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.

The Perlas Spikers defeated the Reinforced Conference champions in four when they first clashed last Aug. 11. But the Angels are coming off an impressive four-game run to close out their first round stint, including a shutout win over title contender Motolite last Sunday as they posted identical 5-2 slates behind the Creamline Cool Smashers, who swept the first round.

BanKo-Perlas is also riding on a three-game roll, including a tough five-set escape over BaliPure last week.

Meanwhile, reigning Reinforced Conference champion PetroGazz will represent the country in the 2019 Taichung Bank International Women’s Invitational set Sept. 15-19 in Taipei City, Taiwan.

The Angels readily accepted the invite from the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. despite the late notice. They will face teams from the host country, China, Japan and Thailand in the hope of gaining experience they can use in their campaign in the PVL Open Conference.

“Most of us are first timers in representing the country abroad and we’re proud and excited to be given this opportunity,” said Petro Gazz coach Arnold Laniog.
