Local, foreign participants attend FPPF photo workshops
Photography enthusiasts converge at the historic Fort Santiago in Intramuros, Manila to learn photography as a hobby and others as a profession.
For almost three decades, the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) continuously offers photo courses for beginners to learn and for professional photographers to hone their knowledge and be more competitive.
The comprehensive digital course is the basic photo course where beginners mostly students and others from all walks of life like teachers, accountants, bankers, engineers, doctors, nurses, and other professionals as well as government officials and showbiz personalities enroll to learn photography. Not only local participants, there are also foreign participants.
Former vice president Jejomar Binay, when he was mayor of Makati City and Ambassador Edgardo Manuel, envoy to Poland, were among government officials who took the basic course. There were foreign participants like Veronica Lam, a Chinese from Hong Kong, Europeans like Anneli Gustafsson of Sweden, Russel Evans of Great Britain, and Anne Grete Pedersen of Norway. There were also showbiz personalities like Smokey Manaloto.
A comment of one participant: “The FPPF basic photography workshop helps one understand what is photography. The mentors are nice and really did well to teach us.”
Master photographers, the mentors of the FPPF workshops who are mostly professors of well-known universities, unselfishly share their expertise and experiences to participants.
Basic course participants can learn to operate a camera and take photos only in five days or 40 hours. The next five-Saturday basic photo course starts on Sept. 21.
