Cebu Landmasters expands in Bacolod

- – Iris Gonzales

Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) is further expanding in Bacolod with two new projects.

Bacolod is an important market for the company, CLI chief executive officer Jose Soberano III said yesterday.

The two new projects are Casa Mira Bacolod and Velmiro Plains Bacolod.

CLI will also start construction works on the P1.3-billion Citadines Bacolod City.

Casa Mira Bacolod is a 4.5-hectare property that will feature 431 townhouse units with floor areas ranging from 40 square meters to 78 sqm and lot sizes ranging from 48 to 60 sqm.

The P600-million Velmiro Plains Bacolod, meanwhile, is an 8.35-hectare development which is strategically located in Burgos Avenue in Granada. It will have 342 single-detached house and lot units.

These two new projects follow the regional property player’s first development in Bacolod City, the three-tower MesaVirre Garden Residences launched in 2018.

Aside from the two projects, CLI is also breaking ground for the 200-room Citadines Bacolod City. The project is a joint venture with Bacolod-based Capitaine Inc.

The joint-venture company CLI Premier Hotels Inc. will be putting up the 200-room Citadines Bacolod City hotel which will have 14 floors.

Soberano said the company expects to ride on the emerging tourism industry in the city.

Visitors to Bacolod are increasing and the city is fast becoming a choice destination for international meetings and other events in Western Visayas, he said.

To address the needs of its visitors, Bacolod City government plans to build more tourism infrastructure projects such as a coastal boulevard, conservation and restoration of the public plaza, Sum-ag river development and the Bacolod nature park.

Citadines Bacolod City is one of the four serviced residences under the CLI and Ascott Ltd. strategic alliance, which includes the newly opened Citadines Cebu City, Citadines Paragon Davao and lyf Cebu City.

The company also has plans to grow its investments in the hospitality sector, given the tremendous growth of tourism in the country.

Soberano said the company is building 15 hotels in three to five years’ time.

Its hospitality portfolio is currently close to 1,000 rooms.

CLI is a developer in Visayas and Mindanao with a total of 58 projects in different stages of development located in seven key cities in the region. It has 28 projects completed with a value of P17 billion.
