Crucial PVL matches up in Bacolod

Games today (Bacolod City) 2 p.m. – PacificTown Army vs BanKo-Perlas 4 p.m. – Creamline vs PetroGazz

Creamline and PetroGazz bring their rivalry to Bacolod today in a key matchup of teams tipped to slug it out for the Premier Volleyball League championship for the second straight conference.

Game time is at 4 p.m. at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum.

Though the Cool Smashers have clinched the first semifinal berth in the Open Conference as early as last week, the defending champions are still expected to go all-out not to just to preserve their unbeaten 12-0 slate but also re-assert their mastery over the very team which foiled them in the recent Reinforced Conference.

Creamline scored a sort of payback when it swept PetroGazz in their first round elims clash last Aug. 24 although the Angels used that setback as motivation, sweeping their next eight matches to zero in on the second Final Four seat.

BanKo-Perlas and PacificTown-Army, meanwhile, face off in the 2 p.m. opener, another expected slambang duel with the Perlas Spikers out to firm up their own semis drive with a 9-5 card and the Lady Troopers (6-6) trying to keep their bid for a playoff for the last semis berth.
