Suspect killed in N. Ecija drug sting

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A drug suspect was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija yesterday.

Christian de Guzman, 31, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Caloocan shortly after midnight, Lt. Col. Herly Bruno, San Jose City police chief, said.

Meanwhile, in this city, Efren Mora, said to be an aide of a Cagayan town mayor, was arrested in a sting in Barangay Leonarda.

Police said Mora surrendered under Oplan Tokhang and completed a rehabilitation program of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency but continued with his illegal activities.
