Trader, aide survives ambush in Batangas

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A businessma­n and his aide were wounded in an ambush in Lipa City, Batangas yesterday.

Ronald Rivera was in a Toyota Super Grandia driven by his bodyguard Rey Consurte when they were waylaid in Barangay Tambo at around 9:20 a.m.

Capt. Hazel Luma-Ang, Batangas police spokespers­on, said Rivera and Consurte were taken to a hospital for treatment.

An investigat­ion is ongoing.
