Working together for clean hands for all

-

Recent news about monitored cases of polio, an infectious disease caused by the polio virus, has alarmed many Filipinos. Health officials also started urging everyone to intensify the practice of handwashing with soap. Many of the people may not be aware but keeping the hands clean as well as encouraging others to make it a habit is vital so the public can avoid communicable diseases and live healthier lives.

Going beyond providing good quality and affordable products to Filipinos, Philusa Corp. joined Manila Water Foundation in promoting the simple and life-saving act of handwashing on Global Handwashing Day, with the goal of preventing communicable diseases caused by bad hand hygiene.

“Being a longtime partner of every Filipino family, we want Filipinos to practice good handwashing behavior and we are proud to be supporting Manila Water again this year in encouraging people to have better hygiene”, said Neogin Evangelista.

Aside from the handwashing activity, over 500 mothers, children, and community members at the Mariano Marcos Memorial High School in Manila were given hygiene kits from Philusa, which include Cleene Hand Sanitizers and Cleene Foam Hand Soap to continue ensuring a healthy and clean environment in their homes.

“Philusa is one with Manila Water in working toward making sure that no one is left behind when it comes to understanding the importance of better hygiene. And while good and proper handwashing are definitely the first line of defense against spread of germs, we believe it is also important give easy access to clean hands with hand soap or even rubbing alcohol,” added Evangelista.
