The Annulment tackles the challenges people experience in marriage

-

If love is what brought two people together in a union, will that love be enough reason to keep them together when in the brink of separation?

This is the premise of the much-anticipated movie The Annulment produced by Regal Entertainment, Inc. Topbilled by Lovi Poe and Joem Bascon, The Annulment is a timely movie that tackles the challenges and trials that relationships go through along the process.

It is a highly relatable film that resonates with people in relationships, including those couples that have fear of failure in relationships. It explores the joys, pleasures, pains and hardships that committed people experience within the commitment. Like in many marriages, there comes a time when that union is tested, one way or the other. There will be instances or situations that will occur to test how strong is its foundation and these trials will determine if the couple will decide if they will stick together or go their separate ways.

The Annulment tells about the two different people from different worlds. Gari (played by Lovi) is born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She is a woman of ambition, who strives to achieve her dreams and succeed in life.

Meantime, Sherwin (played by Joem) is a simple guy and is a college dropout, who has no big dreams and simply wants to build a family. Fate leads Gari and Sherwin on the same path and they instantly feel the attraction. Eventually, their lives get entangled in a whirlwind romance. Deeply elated by these feelings, they eventually decide to tie the knot. A couple of years in the marriage, problems in the relationship come to the surface. Gari’s frustrations and Sherwin’s unfulfilled promises for a better relationship and better life urges her to come to a decision. But Sherwin won’t hear any of it and tries everything that he can to make Gari change her mind. Sherwin tries to woo Gari and win her heart again, but the latter is determined that the only way that her husband could make her happy is if he agrees to get annulment. What will happen when the best part becomes the worst? Is separation the best answer?

The film also stars Myrtle Sarrosa, JC Tiuseco, Laura Lehmann, Dianne Medina, Erika Padilla, Nikka Valencia, Manuel Chua, Nico Antonio, Matt Daclan, Jon Leo, Naya Amore with Johnny Revilla and Ana Abad Santos.

The film, directed by Mac Alejandre, opens in cinemas on Nov. 13.
