DATEM: 35 YEARS OF CHANGING THE REAL ESTATE LANDSCAPE

- By ALIYYA SAWADJAAN

Property development in the Philippines has been on a steady rise in recent years, with no signs of slowing down due to the increasing demand both within and outside Metro Manila. In fact, it has been estimated that more projects and land will be developed in the next few years for residential, leisure, commercial and industrial uses.

Today, DATEM stands as one of the leading construction companies in the country with 35 years of experience in the industry. The company offers value-driven engineering services by using technical expertise, innovation and technology. On top of that, it is accredited as a Quadruple A contractor by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the highest level of accreditation to be given by the organization and has Triple ISO Certifications for its Quality Management, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

CHANGING THE LANDSCAPE 35 YEARS ON

In the 35 years since its inception, DATEM has changed the landscape of Metro Manila and the rest of the country with its projects. It remains committed to forging lasting relationships with some of the country’s top developers and boasts a rich portfolio from residential condominiums (Discovery Primea, Twin Oaks Place, One Uptown Residence, among others), to office (Menarco Tower, Unilab Corporate Center, MDC 100, and ABS-CBN’s ELJ Communications Center, to name a few), and leisure (Discovery Shores Boracay, Savoy Hotel Boracay, Ascott BGC, The Mind Museum and the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig). It is also responsible for the development of St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City and Marist Schools’ Chapel of the Magnificat.

These structures have become landmarks in the cities they stand on — testimonies of their genius, passion, commitment, and mastery while adhering to best practices, contributing to sustainable development, and delivering only the highest standards of excellence. Add to this DATEM’s core value of

malasakit which is best seen in the green building initiatives of the company in pursuit of sustainability. Some of the green building projects that DATEM helped develop are Arya Residences, Menarco Tower, and the Unilab Corporate Centers.

Another innovation that DATEM brought to the industry is the introduction of precast technology. The company recognized their clients’ need to finish projects in a faster, safer, and more cost-efficient way. It has been using the technology to compress project schedule, decrease waste, minimize formworks and scaffolding, and speed up the exchange of on-site trade and services. Its precast products include wall, ledge, beam, slab, stairs, and modular housing.

FUTURE PROJECTS

DATEM widens its already impressive portfolio with 10 new projects that kicked off this year. The projects include four residential buildings, three office buildings, a reservoir in Porac, Pampanga, and two infrastructure projects as part of its commitment to nation-building in line with the government’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ program.

The buildings include Copeton Baysuites, a luxurious residential condominium project in Entertainment City, Parañaque that features a collection of elegantly designed units, lavish amenities and facilities for a worry-free condo living; Gateway Regency Studios, which is poised to redefine studio living in the city with modern facilities to cater to the needs of onthe-go millennials; 18th Avenue de Triomphe, a resort-inspired urban complex that will tower the Arcovia City township and feature modern residential units, retail hubs and amenities; Oceanway Residences 2, a condominium development that exudes a villa-inspired ambience and is complemented by panoramic views of the Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf & Country Club, Mt. Luho and the Sulu and Sibuyan Seas.

Meanwhile the office buildings are Savya Financial Center, a mid-rise building that boasts of sustainable features and modern design; 165 EDSA, a multi-level complex along EDSA; and a proposed BPO building that once developed will stand at 36 storeys high.
