CREBA, La Salle open real estate finance course

The Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations Inc. (CREBA), in consortium with the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Professional and Continuing Education (DLS-CSB SPACE), will open its certificate course, “Real estate financial planning and management” on Jan. 18.

The course is the fifth of six modules under the Executive Diploma Program in Real Estate Management (EDPREM) offered by the two leading institutions since 2002.

Classes will be held at the ninth floor of the CSB School of Design and Arts Campus located at Pablo Ocampo Street, Malate, Manila from 1 to 8:30 p.m. and will run for four consecutive Saturdays until Feb. 15.

CREBA, headed by national president Noel Toti Cariño, is the Philippine umbrella organization of the real estate and housing industry composed of property developers, builders, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers of construction materials, real estate service practitioners and other professionals and entities engaged in over 70 allied fields.

Course director is CREBA vice president for chapter affairs and director Jocelyn Yumul.

According to CREBA national chairman Charlie Gorayeb, the first two Saturdays will cover: Real Estate Finance: Economics, Planning and Forecasting; BOI Incentives for Housing and Real Estate Development Projects; Development and Buyers Financing through Banks and Other Private Institutions; Development and Buyers Financing through Pag-IBIG and other GFIs; Credit and Collection Management; and Asset-Backed Securitization.

For the third and 4th week: Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs); Investment Planning and Analysis; Preparation and Analysis of Financial Statements; Real Estate Accounting; and Taxation on Real Estate Transactions.

Program director Avelina Acuña said that the other five courses tackle effective tools for real estate marketing; land laws and property titling; planning and development; highest and best uses for real estate; and project feasibility studies.
