Village chief held for firearms

COTABATO CITY – A barangay chairman was arrested following a search in his house that resulted in the seizure of unlicensed firearms in Ampatuan, Maguindanao over the weekend.

Reynaldo Huesca of Barangay Kauran was arrested by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group led by Maj. Esmail Madin.

The raiding team recovered a shotgun and a .45 caliber pistol from Huesca’s house.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act will be filed against Huesca, police said.
