‘Norte: A Caravan Plein Air’ at Galerie Anna

An inspired idea initiated and sponsored by Galerie Anna is “Norte: A Caravan Plein Air,” on view until Feb. 3, featuring works by Orley Ypon, Junn Roca, Otto Neri, Darby Alcoseba, Erwin Mallari, Rellie Liwag, Abel Gatbonton, and Maria Francisca Andraianne Juarez.

Captured by the works of these Filipino artists who travelled all the way up to Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte are the historic Spanish colonial houses and churches, landmarks and tourist sites, as well as the quiet stretches of shores and beach resorts, pottery makers and fishing communities. Executed with loose impressionist brushstrokes, done in the artists’ individual styles and techniques, their plein air landscapes are marvels of composition and light, mood and memory.
