Nursing mothers in QC to get cash aid
The local government of Quezon City will include high-risk nursing mothers in its expanded financial assistance program for residents affected by the enhanced community quarantine, Mayor Joy Belmonte announced yesterday.
Belmonte said around 6,000 nutritionally challenged nursing mothers would be given P2,000 each.
The city government has allocated P600 million for the expanded “Kalingang QC” program that gives cash subsidy to residents severely affected by the lockdown.
Quezon City initially provided P200 million to at least 100,000 public utility vehicle drivers, vendors and other daily wage earners.
The local government also gave cash assistance to unregistered vendors, solo parents, persons with disability and senior citizens.
Around 43,000 residents have received cash grants from the city government as of April 25.
